I need to access more RAM than is built in on the EZDsp USB stick?

Can an SD card be connected directly to the expansion pins of the EZDsp USB stick?

Would it be easier to use SPI-mode or SD-mode to interface to the SD card?

I don't mind soldering directly to the SD card and expansion port. I have done it before to access the uart and gpio.
