AM335x ISDK v1.1.0.5 Ethernet/IP : Ping can not pass between PC-A and PC-B through ICEv2.1

Hello,

I am using ICEv2.1(AM335x).
And, I am evaluating EthernetIP with ISDK v1.1.0.5.

I found issue that "Ping can not pass between PC-A and PC-B through ICEv2.1".

Question)

- Have you ever known this issue?
- Does it depend on hardware restriction? or software restriction?
- Do you have a plan to fix it?

Sorry. I forgot important thing!
This issue happens under the condition, one side is 100Mbps and other side is 10Mbps.

When both is 10Mbps or 100Mbps, Ping could succeed.

This is a known software issue. We will update the processors wiki to reflect the same. At this point we are looking at how to fix this issue, there is no committed date.

Thank you for your prompt reply.
I understand.

I don't mind that 100Mbps and 10Mbps simultaneous operation is not supported.
But, I would mind that AM335x may cause damage to other equipments in network by it is in unexpected condition at that time.

Can you provide your comment again?

- Is it safe when 100Mbps and 10Mbps are both exist in network ?
- Could you tell me the detail of reason to maintain safety?
(e.g. PRUSS firmware makes disable itself from network.)

Hi RY-san

The switching operation doesn't work properly when two ports are operated at different speeds so yes it's possible that corrupted frames may be generated.

If you are worried about safety you can disable the port which goes into a different speed setting. This can be accomplished by checking and modifying the link0ISR and link1ISR functions in driver, whenever speed or duplexity changes these functions are invoked for the respective ports.

- There is no known issue in 100Mbps Full duplex.
- This issue is for during linking up both 10Mbps and Half duplex.
