Bring-up Diagnostics for OMAP-3530 Board

I'm looking for some board bring-up diagnostics for an OMAP-3530 board.  I realize that if memory is working properly I can download U-Boot and run some diagnostics from there, but what about using JTAG?  Are there any diags using GEL files?  What about diagnostics that could be downloaded over UART3 as boot code and then respond with results over the serial port?

Suggestions appreciated.

  • Hey Chris -

We provide what you are looking for in a standard product called kDiagnostics. You can find it at www.kozio.com.

There are a number of ways you can use our  product. You can boot the OMAP and load our software over UART3 or USB (we provide a boot loader and RAM loadable application) using OMAP Flash. Once kDiagnostics is running in memory you can interact with the hardware, run diagnostic tests, run full functional validation, transfer images and program any device (such as eMMC). You interact with the software running on the OMAP using a UART or Ethernet, and USB is coming. You can also run our software as a standalone application, booting off an SD Card or MMC or EMMC memory devices.

Our product has been used to bring-up hundreds of processor boards over the years and we have worked with the 3430, 3530, 3630, and all OMAP4 flavors. I am confident we could help out. Let me know if you want more information.
