I2C slave/passive boot mode on C6657

Hi all,

I want to boot DSP C6654 through I2C slave/passive mode.
Then I studied the "KeyStone Architecture DSP Bootloader User Guide" to know how to use I2C slave/passive mode.
But, I still did not know how to calculate related info and how to transform the targeted binary file to i2c slave.
For NAND boot and SPI boot, there are some examples and windows utilities to transform the boot table to the targeted binary file.
Does there also have examples or windows utilities for i2c slave mode?

Hi,

Please take a look at below documents in MCSDK package. It should be helpful for flash the binary to i2c slave device.

EEPROM writer: \ti\mcsdk_2_01_02_06\tools\writer\eeprom\evmc6657l

Readme file: \ti\mcsdk_2_01_02_06\tools\writer\eeprom\docs\README.txt

Refer section "4.2. Verifying POST" on program_evm_userguide.pdf document. (\ti\mcsdk_2_01_02_06\tools\program_evm\program_evm_userguide.pdf).

Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I would like to regard C6654 as a I2C slave device.
And another CPU(i2c master mode) will send binary to C6654(i2c slave mode), then boot from C6654.

Does TI have this example code to let me implement this feature?

Hi Ganapathi,

The binary format of i2c slave is same as i2c master(eeprom) except the first 6 byte data. This knowledge came from below e2e link.

Could you please guide me how to transform DSP image to binary for i2c communication?

Hi all,

I got one C665x_bootROM_src.zip on e2e before. But the source codes were not complete, especially i2c boot.

Could TI please release a full version boot rom source code?
