OMAP-L138 DSP startup problem

What is your emulator hardware ?

XDS100v2 or XDS510USB emulator or some thing else ?

I would like to suggest to use "Adaptive frequency (clock)" with 1MHz in emulator target configuration advance settings.

I made the change to adaptive clocking. The end result is the same but the debugger/emulator tries for a lot longer before giving up. I am guessing that I damaged the card by handling it without taking proper ESD precautions (does this make sense?)

I think, No.

I've faced the same problem in my board too when I use XDS100v2.

So, it is fixable.

When did you face this error, that is while loading DSP program to core or while initialization (gel file loading) ?

Please check the gel file and target configuration.

1) Create new target configuration and select board as OMAPL138 and emulator as XDS100v2

2) Select the new target configuration and choose "Launch selected configuration" option.

3) Connect DSP core followed by ARM core since OMAPL138 is ARM boot device.

4) Select DSP core and load DSP program.

when exactly does this happen? Is it during a debug session or just after you connect to the target for the first time?

This message indicate that the emulator cannot get control of the device (Execution state prevented access) or the IDE lost communication with the target board (Trouble writing Memory).

The problem occurs on initialisation by the gel file (Run/Target Connect from the CCS menu) after the gel file has finished setting up the PLL.

With respect to your suggestion---

In fact I do not have that option (missed or failed update?) and have been getting by with the LCDK6748 choice. If you could tell me how to get hold of the OMAPL138 option I will try it.
