[C6655] LM10011 is really required ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM10011

Hi,

We suggest my customer to use LM10011 on their target board with C6655, but they are wondering if LM10011 power solution should be always required with C6655 or not.

In C6655 data sheet, using LM10011 is recommended to optimize core voltage at the beginning of device power cycle (SmartReflex class 0). This can optimize the power consumption for each specific device. But if they don't apply this solution, what problem could happen (without power consumption) ?

They need the overall understanding (merit/demerit) to apply LM10011 power solution... Do you have any suggestions for that ?

Best Regards,
Kawada

  • Hello Naoki,

Smart reflex is not optional for keystone devices; it is a must have requirement. The LM10011 is one of the smart reflex solution recommended by TI. The smart reflex ensures the proper operation across the temperature range.

You can refer Hardware Design Guide for Keystone Devices for more smart reflex solutions.

You can also search in the forum for details about smart reflex requirement. It has been discussed in many threads.

  • Hi Senthil,

Thanks for your reply. Actually I had briefly checked the manuals you suggested, but I could not understand if it was mandatory requirement or not.  Now considering your answer, applying smart reflex is mandatory to ensure the proper operation among the operating temperature range. That is enough for us to answer to our customer. Thanks!
