booting from OTP devices

Hello,

In one of our designs we have connected AM335x to an EROM OTP device “AT27C080” on CS0.

Currently for testing purpose we have mounted NOR device in place of OTP device

“SST39VF040-70-4I-NHE”.

We want to use OTP for booting purpose. So we have decided to use “XIP_MUX2” mode for booting.

Please comment on feasibility of this implementation.

Please mention if there is any issue or change/ modification required for such implementation.

Hi,

This may be possible. To verify you can check behavior when the nWE signal is cut-off from the NOR. Another thing to verify is whether the OTP will meet the timings that ROM code sets for XIP boot (AM335X TRM Rev. K section 26.1.7.2.1).
