  • Hi Ajay,

The recommended Ubuntu releases for the EZSDK 5.05.02.00 are 10.04 LTS, 11.10 and 12.04. Therefore you observe the fail and error message.

I could suggest you an attempt for work around but I can not guarantee success with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS because it is not tested. The fail is due to checking of the Ubuntu version in the EZSDK/bin/setup-host-check.sh script which is called by setup.sh. You can open the setup-host-check.sh script by some editor and comment the exit command. After this edition the error message will appears again but I expect the execution of the setup to continue.

An other attempt for workaround is to add the posted below check for Ubuntu 14.04 in the setup-host-check.sh scrip:

    ........

    elif [ "$host" == "trusty" ]; then
echo "Ubuntu 14.04 found successfully, continuing.."
        echo
    "--------------------------------------------------------------------------------"
        echo

    ........

    Share the result, please.

  • Hi Sir, Thanks For Valuable Suggetiion.

After the changes i made as per your suggestion I got this on my console.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    TISDK setup script

This script will set up your development host for sdk development.
Parts of this script require administrator priviliges (sudo access).
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Verifying Linux host distribution
    Ubuntu 14.04 found successfully, continuing..
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This step will make sure you have the proper host support packages installed
using the following command: sudo apt-get install xinetd tftpd nfs-kernel-server minicom build-essential libncurses5-dev uboot-mkimage autoconf automake

Note! This command requires you to have administrator priviliges (sudo access)
    on your host.
    Press return to continue

    [sudo] password for ajay:
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
Package uboot-mkimage is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
      u-boot-tools

E: Package 'uboot-mkimage' has no installation candidate
    Failed setup, aborting..
    Failed setup, aborting..
    ajay@ajay-Lenovo-G570:~$

Again i am expecting some more help from you to get resolve this Error.

    Thank you Sir.

  • Hi Ajay,

Some of the required tools and packages from the list "xinetd tftpd nfs-kernel-server minicom build-essential libncurses5-dev uboot-mkimage autoconf automake" like uboot-mkimage seems not applicable for Ubuntu 14.04. You should check for all of them whether installed on your system and if some of then are no try to install it manually.

If you have successfully installed all packs you can comment calling of the setup-package-install.sh in the setup.sh script and execute the setup.sh script again.

  • Hi,

Sorry for reopening the question, but I also have the same problem.

Where can I get the list of tools and packages that the script checks. And how do I install them. I am an absolute beginner and the support would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks
