Hello Sitara Wizards!

I am looking at using a Sitara processor to receive data from a 12-bit parallel bus at 32 MSPS and then transmit that data over an Ethernet connection (1 gigabit). While browsing through other Sitara E2E posts, I have gathered that the GPIO pins are not capable of 32 MSPS, can you confirm this?

Is there another processor that you would recommend for this application?

According to the am335x datasheet (section 7.14.1.2), PRUSS GPI in parallel capture mode supports up to 50 Msps, so assuming it's a synchronous parallel bus (i.e. accompanied by a clock signal) it should be able to do the job.

I can confirm that GPIO capture at 50MHz rate works on the am335x. I used PRU for that.
