AM335x GPMC and NOR Flash—Synchronous Single Read

Hi,

I have one question regarding AM335x GPMC module.

According to the Figure 7-17 GPMC and NOR Flash—Synchronous Single Read—(GpmcFCLKDivider = 0) of Am335x data sheet(sprs717g), only gpmc_a[10:1] is valid address for singl read acceess. How about is gpmc_a[11:27] address?

I would like to do the connection of Figure 7-4. GPMC to 16-Bit Non-multiplexed Memory of AM335x TRM(spruh73j).

Is there some limitation for "Non-multiplexed memory"?

Please advise me.

Hi Michi,

This is obviously an error in Figure 7-17. Table 7-5 in the TRM is valid. gpmc_a[10:1] in Figure 7-17 should be gpmc_a[27:1]. By the way, you should update your TRM - latest revision is K.

You can check also Figures 7-24 and 7-25 in the AM335X TRM Rev. K. They are correct.

Biser-san,

Thank you for your quick response.

Figure 7-24 and 7-25 are for Asynchoronus read/write access.

I would like to know the synchronous single read access with No-multiplexed NOR device.

Is it possible? Can GPMC module output A1-A27 address on external bus? Is the gpio enough for these address pin?

Sorry, my mistake. Yes, GPMC will output A1-A27. See section 7.1.3.3.10.3.4 in the TRM.
