boundary scan mode for TMS320C6713GDPA200

hi,

now i having problem to test this device using Agilent 3070 through boundary scan test. The device is not respond as desire and it seen like the instruction register length is not right.

i've drive emu0, emu1 and rst to "0".

in order for this device to change to boundary scan mode, is the device need to boost up properly 1st? or is there any other method that miss out in datasheet?

Hello Kevin,

which BSDL model are you using for boundary scan ? Please use the BSDL model available (section 3.1) in the below link.

What is the state of TRST signal when you perform boundary scan ?

Please refer the JTAG Emulation document SPRU641 for more detailed information.

Hello Kevin,

The C6713 device is obsolete and you might not get more support on this device in the future. If you are developing new design, i would suggest you to migrate to C6748/C6747 device. You could find the below links useful for the migration.

Hi Senthil,

the bsdl model i used is sprm119.bsm, the TRST state is "1".
will this related to the boot mode of the device?

Hello Kevin,

I don't think the boundary scan is related to the boot mode of the device. Whenyou pull down the EMU pins, the device is switched internally to boundary scan mode. Typically when we use JTAG for emulation, the boot mode must be selected to emulation boot. This might be applicable for boundary scan too. Please try the boundary scan with emulation boot selected.

Also i would like you to ensure that you meet all the requirements described in the below document for boundary scan.
