AM437x GP EVM BOOT mode

Guru 15520 points

Hi,

I have a question about AM437x GP EVM.

Which boot mode are GP EVM supporting? I'm looking at the following wiki page, but I can't find which boot mode are supported. http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM437x_General_Purpose_EVM_HW_User_Guide

I want to know all the boot mode supported on GP EVM.

best regards,

g.f.

  • Hi,

Check Table 5-10. SYSBOOT Configuration Pins in device TRM (http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spruhl7a/spruhl7a.pdf) & AM437x EVM schematics (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/images/b/ba/AM437X_INDUSTRIAL_EVM_3K0008_schematic_REV1_3A.pdf) SW11 & SW12 to see which boot modes are supported.

    Best Regards,
    Yordan

  • Hi Yordan,

    Thank you for the reply.

I already know that we can check from the schematics.
But why user need to check the TRM and schematic to find which bootmode are supported on EVM?
I think it shoud be introduced at TI wiki or EVM User's guide as other EVM document does.

TRM table explains the function of each pin in the sysboot switches & the boot sequence.

The schematic shows you how the pins in SW11 and SW12 are connected to AM437x device.

To my knowledge such wiki is not available yet, that is why user should look into device TRM to see supported boot sequence/configurations.

    Best Regarards,
