XDS200 CPLD

I am using the K2E EVM as the starting point for a design, and to save board space I would like to replace the XDS200 CPLD with a JTAG connector and use a XDS200 pod emulator. It is not clear to me what JTAG connections are needed to do this. Is there a document that has an example of the interface?

Hello Kerry,

Yes, you can remove the on-board emulator section and use XDS200 pod emulator for JTAG debugging. Please note XDS200 emulator doesn't support TRACE capture.

Thanks! One more additional question: The documentation mentions the DSP in a number of places, but I don't see any reference to the ARM. My design will have an AM5K2E. I am assuming the XDS200 provides emulation support for the ARM without DSP? I want to make sure I have basic emulator support; if the XDS200 JTAG does not support the ARM, I need to revisit my options.

The XDS200 provides emulation support for the ARM only devices also. Please refer the below link for more details about XDS200 emulator.
