DDR3 Configuration for 8 GB

When I tried to initialize DDR3 from GEL file, I can`t reach all 8 GBs of RAM, the second half of 4 GB DDR3 Memory Space is accessed as a mirrof of first half, How should we configure DDR3 to access all 8 GBs of RAM, is there a sample configuration, that will be very useful...

    I don't have an example. But please have a look at how the MPAX (Memory Protection and Address Extension) works in the CorePac User's Guide (SPRUGW0C).

    The description starts with Chapter 7.3 on page 139.

    I think the figure (from the User's Guide) below shows quite nicely how the address range of the CPU (32-bit) can be extended:

    Firstly I am aware of the Memory Protection and Address Extension Issue and the problem is not that, because I can already access 4 GBs of DDR with Address Extension. I think I need proper DDR3 Configuration for accessing 8 GBs.

    We are using our custom board and also XTCIEVMK2X Rev2.0 with TCI6638K2K, both have the same problem with 8 GB DDR on DIMM Socket.

    Also I am not sure if EVM does support 8 GB DDR over DIMM Socket.

    I can't give you any specific information on the TCI6638K2K since TCI parts are not supported on the E2E forums. You'll have to contact your FAE to get support for that part. I can say that most of the 8GB DIMMs that I've encountered are dual rank. Have you modified the configuration to support the access of both ranks? Since 4GB is connected to each of the two chip selects, a single rank configuration would only give you access to half of the memory.
