Can we configure aif2 of 2 DSPs connected in chain topology with different LTE Bandwidths?

Hello,

We are working on TCI6670 evm.

In aif2 user guide,as per section 9.1.3 " 20 MHz LTE CPRI 4x, DL, 2 AxC With One Control Channel", we can configure LTE DL chain of both first and second DSP in the chain together . As provided in this section ,AxC channel 0 for DSP0 and AxC channel 1 for DSP1 in the chain are configured to enable DL chain of both DSPs together.

Now, Can I configure DSP0 with a LTE Bandwidth(say,15MHz) and DSP1 with different bandwidth(say,20MHz) in this chain topology?

Please advise.

Regards,

Jeanne

  • Hi Jeanne,
We are working on this post. Due to holiday's and vacation there may be delays. Thank you for your patience.
  • Hi Jeanne,

Yes, we can configure two DSPs with different LTE bandwidths. Consider the case where DSP0 is configured at 10MHz and DSP1 is at 20 MHz. Since DSP0 will send the data in form of cpri packets only, so it will fill data corresponding to antenna 0 only. While DSP 1 will fill data corresponding to antenna 1 only and then cpri packets are added finally to be transmitted. Since antenna data positions are not conflicting for any LTE bandwidth. So there should not be any issue with different bandwidth configurations in chain topology.

  • Hi Jeanne,

Could you show the details of the 2 DSPs aif2 connection architecture in your situation?
Does these two DSPs use the common SYSCLK for aif2 TX/RX SerDes?

    Thank you!
