Hi,

We are planning to use the below 8-Bit NAND flash from Micron for the booting operation.Could you please let me know,whether it is fine for the operation.

Hi Sharvy,

The requirements for NAND flash support are listed in section 26.1.7.4 of the AM335X TRM Rev. K. From what I see in the NAND datasheet this part seems to be compatible.

Hi Biser,

Thanks for the immediate feedback.

We are interfacing NAND Flash (8-bit) device with AM335x to write the U-boot and kernel images for the essential booting.My doubt is,whether we can able to program and access the NAND Flash on a fresh board (during first time powering up) using JTAG device?

If you have an SD card slot that will be the easiest way - boot from SD and program the NAND from u-boot. Another way is using the Uniflash tool: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Sitara_Uniflash_Quick_Start_Guide

we don't have any SD Card and USB option in our board.It is a small OEM board with some limited interfaces.So our primary booting image (kernel+u-boot) should be written to the NAND flash using JTAG during the boards first time powering.Is it possible to burn the NAND Flash using JTAG at the earlier stage (first time booting/poweing)?

From my understanding,we can flash the NAND without any issue using JTAG while doing the fresh board powering up with the proper Reset configuration settings.Am I right?
