Hi,

We are developing a small form factor board based on AM335X and NAND flash is using for storing the images (U-boot, Kernel and File system). The available interfaces for firmware loading in the board are JTAG,Ethernet, USB and serial.

What is the best and easy method for firmware loading?

Hi Biser,

Thanks for your reply. I have few queries

1) If we are go ahead with the Ethernet Flashing, the MAC address needs to be set before transferring the images. So how we can set this. We are using the AM335X having two Ethenet interface support.

2) In case of USB, I think a private network connection is creating through USB interface. Whether the USB interface of the board is the normal USB interface only or any special thing needs to be enabled in hardware to use this ?

MAC addresses for Ethernet are contained in ROM. One of these will be used for the ROM bootloader and the rest of the process. No need to set it manually. A private network is still recommended.

Correct. Each USB connection is a subnet. No special H/W changes are necessary that I know of.

Thanks for the reply. So after flashing the firmwares (U- boot, Linux and File system), we need to set the unique MAC addresses in the product. is this correct ?

But the key thing my customer did (that I don't fully understand) is boot multiple AM335x with the same ROM bootloader MAC address on different subnets.
