IDE and emulators for C5409

Hi, we would like to modify some code for a C5409 design done a number of years ago.

What version CCS IDE is needed, and what version of the emulator is used for development with C5409?

For JTAG emulator, it is depends on what is supported on your hardware, it can be Blackhawk's USB or Spectrum Digital's USB or on board XDS100 like most of C55x5's ezDSP.
As for CCS, my latest installed version is CCS5 which has TMS320C5409A in the Target Configuration manual. As for the record, the latest CCS is version 6.

Thanks Steve. I put the wrong part number. It's actually for TMS320VC5409. It's an old design. I would like to know what emulator to use and IDE for this particular DSP.

You should be able to use TMS320C5416 in Target Configuration to connect.

Sorry I do not understand your comments. Can I still use XDS510 or XDS560 or other emulators to target TMS320VC5409, and what CCS can be used to support this DSP?

What emulator to use is not depend on the device but what is supported on your board. So, what emulator connector is used on your board? Most common one are USB, 14-pin or 20-pin JTAG. I use CCS5.0 and you can use TMS320C5416 in Target Configuration for TMS320VC5409. The latest version of CCS is 6 and should have TMS320C5416 in Target Configuration.
