DM8168 EVM power monitor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA220

Hi all,

I have two DM8168 EVMs that we have been using for developing/testing with EZSDK 5.05.02.00, we just found that one of the EVMs doesn't want to boot anymore from NAND, SD card, etc. Using the same SD card on the other EVM we can boot without problems, this means that the problem is on the hardware since we tried the same SD card and the same configuration on the switches (boot switches and others).

I just checked the power monitor of both boards:

Working EVM:

#U14 (0V9) 0000920mV 0008500uA
#U11 (1V8 A) 0001804mV 0015000uA
#U7 (1V8 B) 0001808mV 0148000uA
#U59 (VTT/1V5 ALT) 0000772mV 0029200uA
#U22 (3V3) 0003344mV 0476800uA
#U17 (5V0) 0004996mV 1068800uA
#U42 (1V5) 0001568mV 1386000uA
#U23 (1V0 AVS) 0001056mV 1889600uA
#U18 (1V0 CON) 0001012mV 0180800uA
#Expansion 1 0033640mV 0696000uA

Not Working EVM (no daughter card):

#U14 (0V9) 0000016mV 0001000uA
#U11 (1V8 A) 0000576mV 1161500uA
#U7 (1V8 B) 0001804mV 0010000uA
#U59 (VTT/1V5 ALT) 0000008mV 0000400uA
#U22 (3V3) 0003340mV 0154400uA
#U17 (5V0) 0005012mV 0592800uA
#U42 (1V5) 0000636mV -0000400uA
#U23 (1V0 AVS) 0001044mV 1083600uA
#U18 (1V0 CN) 0001016mV 0122000uA
#Expansion 1 0000000mV 0000000uA

I see that these values come from the INA220 present in the board.

Question:

1. I see that the current and voltages levels between the EVMs are really different, Does this mean a problem in the power supply or in the SoC?

2. Is there something (fuse, chip, etc) that we could change to fix the non working EVM or those this values mean that it is time to throw away this EVM?

3. Can we send this board back to TI to be fixed or to analyse which is the problem?

Thanks for your help,

-David
