XTCIEVMK2X: Is it possible that ARM and DSP communicate through Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Switch Subsystem?

Hi experts,

Since XTCIEVMK2X has two ethernet ports, we would like to let ARM uses one ethernet port and DSP uses the other.

And ARM and DSP communicate with each other through Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Switch Subsystem.

Question: Is it possible? How to do it?

Tony,

I believe that, the multiple IP addresses supported with MCSDK on Keystone II device based EVM.
But your requirement is a DSP core communicate to an ARM core within the same device via Ethernet cable using two ports (one for DSP and one for ARM).
In this case, Our Hardware can do it. But not sure if network software stack will allow for this.

The network traffic is not processed by the software on host side, but by network coprocessor (NetCP).
NetCP outputs all packets from Ethernet ports to QMSS queues. ARM and DSP works on the QMSS queue each is configured to process the packets.

The EVM provides connectivity for both SGMII Gigabit Ethernet ports on the EVM.
The Ethernet PHY (PHY1 and PHY2) is connected to SoC EMAC0 & 1 to provide a copper interface and routed to a Gigabit RJ-45 connector.
You can find the support available in u-boot to enable an Ethernet Port.
So connect Ethernet cable to Port 0. (ENET0) If user is running U-Boot images, Port 0 should be used for connecting Ethernet cable.

Thanks for your reply.

My requirement is a DSP core communicate to an ARM core within the same device via 5-port Ethernet Switch in Soc, instead of Ethernet cable. See the below picture.

Is it possible? Any document or information for referance?
