Rotate display in am3505 based custom board

Hi,

We are working on AM3505 based custom board. We connected 160x128 small display on our system.

We are trying to rotate our display as explained in bleow link:

But we are facing issue when we trying to rotate it with 90 degree.
we are getting below error.

root@sitara:~# echo "1" > /sys/class/graphics/fb0/rotate
[ 487.092803] detected fb_set_par error, error code: -22

Please suggest.

Hi Devang,

What is the physical interface to your display and color mode you use? What software/version are you using?

Hi Biser,

We are working on linux-2.6.37-psp04.02.00.07.sdk kernel and we are using DSS RFBI 9-bit interface to display.
We are using YUV422 colour mode.

Please check AM35X Errata Advisory 1.1.25 and http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM35x-OMAP35x-PSP_04.02.00.07_Feature_Performance_Guide#Features_Not_Supported_3 I think rotation is not supported on your device.

Thanks for the information. Any work around for this?

What if we use RGB24P (RGB24, 24-bit container) colour mode?

The Errata states that there is no workaround. My guess is that this will have to be done in software before writing to the framebuffer.

Hi Biser,

We tested with applying some patches from the link you provided. But it's not working for us.
Can you please suggest which patches are required to resolve this issue?
Can we rotate display using anyother way? using fbset?
