I haven't found anything concerning ETM trace module in the AM3359 datasheet revision june 2014. Am I missing something?

Hi Mark,

The embedded trace macrocell (ETM) in AM3359 is part of the ARM Cortex-A8. You can find information about it in Chapter14 in the Cortex A8 TRM on infocenter.arm.com: http://infocenter.arm.com/help/topic/com.arm.doc.ddi0344f/DDI0344F_cortex_a8_r2p3_trm.pdf

Hi Yordan,

thanks for your reply. Can the ETM in the AM2259 write the trace dato to the Trace Port Interface Unit or does it store trace data to the Embedded
Trace Buffer? Or both?

Hi Mark,

Reading Table 3-3. ARM Core Supported Features in device TRM, my understanding is that CoreSight ETM writes the data to the 32KB Embedded Trace Buffer, which is part of the DebugSS.

I think I found what I was asking for in Table 3-3. Looks like Embedded Trace Buffer and Trace Port Unit are supported. Thanks very much for your help.
