DM355 errata Advisory 1.1.1 RBL Code ECC Limitation

Hi,

I have one question regarding DM355 device.

According to the errata sheet(SPRZ264E)-Advisory .1.1.1, it is written in below as workaround.

The impact of this problem is limited by the incidence of read errors of the NAND device.
In very rare situations, a bit error could occur in the UBL transfer. The impact can be
limited by choosing a NAND device with lower incidence of read errors. SLC NAND is
recommended. SLC NAND typically has a lower incidence of read errors compared to
MLC NAND. The impact can also be limited by minimizing the size of the UBL. Note: the
maximum UBL size is 30Kbytes.

Does anyone have some information to prove these workaround is effective? For example,

the data showing that SLC flash is lower bit error rate than MLC flash, the relative data of UBL

size and bit error rate and so on.

Our customer would like to know how these workarounds are effective in detail. Please give

me more information.

I appreciate your quick reply.

Best regards,

Michi
