AM335x : capacitive touch key?

Hi,

I'm checking if AM335x can support capacitive touch keys without an external touch IC..

ADC on AM335x is a basically resistive method. But from E2E, I found that some company developed a driver for a capacitive Touch-Screen.

Then, theoritically, is it possible to implement a capacitive touch key(that is, it will mean the driver development) with the ADC of AM335x?

Hi Devin,

No, the AM335X ADC cannot support capacitive devices. The e2e threads you refer to probably describe external controller drivers.

Capacitive touch controllers need a large number of wires from the touch to the controller. Because of this, the controller is mounted onto the touch screen. Integration of a capacitive touch controller into a CPU is nonsense.
