zImage of Linux 3.14 replaced into Linux SDK 7.0 doesn't works

Hi Experts,

I have the SD card flashed with LInux SDK 7.0 3.12 kernel with rootfs and boot partitions for AM335x EVM.

When I tried replacing the zImage alone with the Linux 3.14 kernel into /rootfs/boot/zImage-xx

But the kernel doesn't starts.

What are all the things which needs to be changed on flashing new zImage.

Example :

zImage

dtb

u-boot.img

Lyf,
To flsh a new zImage, you dont need to change anything else unless you modified the source of other binaries as well.
You should not rename the file to zImage-XX just keep it as zImage. Also if that doesnt work, can you print your U-boot environ ment by
stopping at boot prompt and U-Boot# printenv
and kernel boot log to the point it stopped and contents of uenv.txt file from SD card boot partition if it exists.

I dont know if a startup/migration guide exists for AM335x but here is a link to what I created for DRA7x. You may use it as a reference.

Most of the things remain same except for the dtb name "should be am335x-evm.dtb"

Hi Lyf,

You have to copy also MLO, u-boot to boot partition and xxx.dtb to rootfs/boot. Please read the link carefully. BTW this SDK is not official and the TI is not supported yet.
