DSPBIOS Hangs Up in Booting

Can someone please address this question. My customer is on a critical deadline and needs assistance as soon as possible. Thanks in advance. Ray (TI Rep)

"When booting we seem to be hanging up in the DSPBIOS init call “GBL_init”

This does not happen when we run from the emulator but, it does when we go through the boot sequence on the board."

- Using C6455 DSP

  • A little more information on the issue:

With the program has reached a breakpoint at " _c_int00", Symbols only loaded, no GEL file, then stepped through the program will hang at "GBL_init"

If the program is loaded through the emulator at this point the program works through to main().

The difference seems to be our loader does not support "STYP_COPY" segment in the COFF File.

We have verified ROM Autoinitialization Model and Reuse startup code space is not checked. We still seem to have a couple of sections that indicate  "STYP_COPY".
