Why c6678 EVM needs IBL for SPI boot and our custom board does not require IBL?

Hi,

I understood that c6678 EVM needs to IBL boot from 0x51 initially through I2c to configure PLL, as initially lot of c6678 is having a issue of PLL. And custom board doesn’t require IBL to boot from SPI NOR flash. But, how do I know my assembled c6678 DSP is not from first lot.

Could someone post more details how to find out IBL requirement to custom board?
