Use case with null source link

I am trying to create a new use case.

Null Source (VPSS) ---> Frameout (VPSS) -----> frames in (A8). I have 2 questions.

1. Is this chain a valid one. 

2. I am facing issue with clock tick in null source link. It generates one tick and then not working. What may be the cause?
