Could you please provide HDVICP test method?

Hi Expert:

Our customer need compare DM8148 HDVICP2.0 and DM368 HDVICP1.0 H.264 encode performance.

DM8148 they using  encode version is REL.500.V.H264AVC.E.IVAHD.02.00.06.01

DM368 they using encode version is IPNC RDK4.0 contained H264ENC.version.02.30.00.04 version.

The YUV video is customer captured files. 

Test tool is JM official released ldecod.exe 

compare DM8148 encode H.264 stream and DM368 H.264 steam. DM8148 SNR at Y is 32.139 and DM368 SNR at Y is 30.081

Their question is:

How TI compare the H.264 encode quality at DM8148 and DM368?

Which tools can provide subject test result about H.264 encode at DM8148 & DM368? Whether can share those tool with customer?

    Hi,

    We don't have quality comparison data for  DM8148 and DM368 based H264 encoder. You can use SNR, SSIM and Subjective quality method to compare. Please note that DM368 is low cost device so its quality will be less  compare to DM8148.
