Sitara Linux SDK on BBB => can´t boot from SD card

Hello everyone,

my "mission" is to install the Sitara Linux SDK on a SD card and boot Ubuntu 12_4 from that card.
After the steps described below, i have a partitioned sd card with boot and rootfs. On boot there is MLO, i-boot.img and uImage.
The point is, i can´t boot up the BBB from the Card. Neigther by holding the BOOT button on power up or button 3 or reset where i read about "somewhere"
If the BBB is connected via USB to the Host and pressing the BOOT button after a while the Host sees a boot drive as an external storage - but the BBB´s LED remain dark.

The SD card is 32GB of Speedgrade 10.

Has someone an idea what i could have done wrong?

PS.:
During installation of the SDK on the Ubuntu Host, i have choosen SD card, not TFTP

Hello,

Can you please provide a console log of the boot process? It sounds like you are indeed booting, or the BBB would not show up as a mass storage device under your host. Can you please explain further why you feel you are NOT booting?

Hi,

Here we succesfully boot board with sdk6 and sdk7. But if you work with sdk6 No any led's blinking on the boot. If you start sdk7 the led's blinking. BTW what display do you use. If you are using HDMI it's not supported in pre-builded sdk6. To use HDMI you have to enable it from tisdk_am335x-evm_defconfig file. But in sdk7 HDMI is supported in pre-builded images.
The steps to create sd-card are same as with sdk6.

Hello,

currently i also think it is booting. If i do an ethernet ping, the borad responds.
For today i´m told to program the eMMC - which is another thread...
