I found an AM437x Starter Kit EVM but cannot find any documentation?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDEP0016, TIDEP0013, TIDEP0012

I was at a flee market and this guy had all this older TI stuff and sold me this board for $10.  I recognized the processor and thought it was a steal.

I got it home and couldn't find anything about it except for one lonely pdf link and a form post about how this board won't come out till 2Q15

The board didn't have the LCD/touch on it but I found availability off Digi-Key.  It seems to work as I managed to get the sitara_linux_sdk_am437x image to boot.  It has an empty i2c eeprom and I cannot get the jtag out of reset state.

So my question is if anything is available for it?  Gel files, the like?  Maybe a beta program I can sign up for?  I am an amateur but have build my own Linux kernel before and the development tools seem good enough for me to try to get android to boot off it.

  • Hi, the AM437x Starter Kit is not released yet hence not supported. You will find a few TI designs based on it (TIDEP0012, TIDEP0013, TIDEP0016) but the board is not available yet.
  • Well drat. Is there any way of getting hold of even a beta uboot image or at the very least the settings so I can build one? Without the jtag board file I have to compile a different uboot and move it over to the SD card to test:P Really appreciate it and it justify me getting the screen for it:)

As a side question, each of those links looks exactly like the board I have. Are there difference prices for each of these boards or will they all cost the same? I am guessing the cost of this board will be around the $200-250 mark when it comes out but could be wrong.
  • Sorry, we can  not release any information regarding this product yet.

  • Not even if I sign an NDA?:)  Ah well thanks for your help, managed to get the right board number in the i2c chip and it boots a uImage:)  All I wanted.  Now I can order the screen.
