Hi,

The AM335x SYS/BIOS Ind. SDK EtherCAT example code does change TLK110 SWSCR1 to SWSCR3 registers in the bsp_tlk110_init() procedure. The datasheet of TLK110 tells me that access to this registers is only possible in the Software Strapping Mode. For this mode Pin21 of TLK110 has to pulled down while power-up or reset. As far as I can see is that Pin21 of TLK110 is Pulled-Up on ICE V2 board as well as on the ICE V1 board.
Question: Does this writes to SWSCR1 to SWSCR3 registers really change anything (means that TLK110 grants access to this registers also without being in Software Strapping Mode)?

Maybe a TLK110 and/or AM335x SYS/BIOS Ind. SDK EtherCAT expert can give some further clarification?

In the TLK datasheet, the Default column indicates if the values are controlled by the SW Strap pin. The Registers defined as SWS are always accessible.

The Registers that are not accessible are put under a Macro - ENABLE_TLK110_SW_STRAPN. This requires a hardware modification. TLK105, doesn't have this limitation, which is used in AM437x EVMs.

Hi Vinesh,

Thanks for the reply. I missed the SWS and SWSC difference in the TLK110 datasheet. Now also the macro ENABLE_TLK110_SW_STRAPN makes more sense to me.
