Program load hangs in Cache_All...

We are bringing up our 1st prototype using a TMS320C6655CZHA . When running program load, it is hanging at Cache_All the majority of the time. We have seen it not hang up in cache on 1 or 2 instances but that is not the norm. We are using a USB200 Blackhawk JTAG Emulator for connection to target device on our custom platform. We are also currently using evmC6657l.gel file that we were running on C6657 EVM platform without modifications at this time. Any suggestions on what may be causing this problem.

Hi James,

Able to see the same behavior in C6657 EVM (Edited) board from the same code ?
What changes you have on your custom board ?
If you have different DDR part then you may want to change the DDR timing parameters in gel file.

HI Titus,

We are using 4Gb (32Mx16x8) DDR3L, MT41K256M16HA-125IT:E, on our Custom Board. The TMS320C6657 EVM is using 2Gb(16Mx16x8) DDR3, MT41J128M16HA-125. The speed grades appear to be the same, -125.

Titus,

One additional comment to above. The C6657 Dual Core EVM Platform is only EVM available that I am aware of.

You are right.
We have C6657 EVM only, its typo.

Are you getting any error while loading gel file ?

Did you run "Global_Default_Setup" through scripts after gel file got loaded ?

What program are you trying to load ?
Is that TI example or your own code ?

Titus,

We do not see any errors when loading gel file and yes Global_Default_Setup scripts did get run. We are running 'our program' at this time which was based on EVM code with adaptations made based on our system architecture. Basically we had things working on EVM platform and just started porting over to our platform the end of last week.

Its difficult for us to find out the cause unless we don't know the code and "Cache_All..." function.

Titus,

I realize that. I was basically looking for suggestions of things to look for which may help narrow down the cause of program hanging in Cache. We could share snip-its of our code if we cannot find root cause fairly quickly... I am assuming at this point that it is not hardware and is some software configuration issue but that is yet to be determined.
