ROV won't start in CCSv6.0

I am getting the following error when trying to start ROV in a debug session:

"ROV failed to start.

Can't extract RTSC configuration package path from 'C:/..../led_toggle/Debug__GNU/led_toggle.out'

The problem is, I've checked and set paths in both the CCS project and the CCS defaults, and it hasn't fixed it.  The target is an AM437X Sitara and the test application from the IDK 2.0 is using with SYS/BIOS 6.41.1.36 and XDCtools 3.30.4.52_core but no other packages.  The host is CCS 6.0.1 and the compiler is gcc 4.7.4 as shipped with that SDK.

  • How is ROV trying to get the path?  Is it stashed as a symbol in the .out file, in which case this could be a GNU linker issue?  But in that case, why does explicitly selecting paths, target and platform in CCS Preferences not work?
