C6657 SYSCLK8

Hello,

I use C6657 without DDR3. SYSCLK8 is slowest clock in the system, according to the chapter "7.5.1.1 Internal Clocks and Maximum Operating Frequencies" in the data manual. Could you tell me what SYSCLK8 is used? When I don't use DDR3, is it possible that SYSCLK8 is faster than SYSCLK6?

Hello Kazu,

The SYSCLK8 must be the slowest clock in the system. In case any of the other programmable SYSCLKs are set slower than 1/64 rate, then SYSCLK8 (SLOW_SYSCLK) needs to be programmed to either match, or be slower than, the slowest SYSCLK in the system.

No, the SYSCLK8 should not be set faster than SYSCLK6.

The SYSCLK8 is only used for PSC (Power/Sleep Controller).
