DM365 DVSDK 4.02 VPBE structure

Hi,

The dm36x had a daughter card with lcd on it from logicpd (I am not aware which one exactly it was), so logicpd_encoder.c is small module which would register as encoder to the vpbe through vid_enc_register_encoder(&logicpd_encoder_dev);.

I was trying to understand the driver structure for lcd display , still one question remains,

if vpbe_encoder.c have the digital LCD signals why we need other encoder for LCD support.

Hello,

The DVSDK which you are referring to is old, you can try referring to latest one which is based on 2.6.37 and doesnt have logicpd_encoder.c.
logicpd_encoder.c, is nothing but just setting the modes. (In the later version its all done in vpbe osd driver)

Sorry I am pretty much sure 2.6.37 release supports DM36x (I did work on that release) not sure if its called dvsdk/psp release.

What workaround do you want for ? If you don’t need the logic encoder just unselect the config using defconfig (go through the user guide which I pointed out in earlier post)

I am sorry I was not specified the details , What i meant was dvsdk 4.03 is not supported for dm365,

I want to connect LCD to dm365 , so Is it possible to configure logicpd_encoder.c file directly as per my LCD spec?

I have configured logicpd_encoder as per LCD spec and were able to see test pattern set from VENC color patter register .
And LCD part works fine . But I am having some issues with OSD0 configuration. The OSD window size is not set correctly on LCD.
Please let me know if you have any inputs regarding this.
Any help is greatly appreciated .

You need to set up the registers venc/osd. Just refer this examples [1] (fbdev_loopback.c) how the osd
is configured.

Hi

I have tried with register configuration.

Still I am facing error . Only ver small section of LCD shows correct data , other section is showing  junk values.

In the attached image there is two sections seperated by a white space , one is very small.

In that very small area only getting displayed correct.

tests are done by fb-test programs

$ yes 54 > /dev/fb0
$ yes 0 > /dev/fb0

Let me know what happens weather entire screen image changes or selected part only.
