Memory Replacement for C6748 and LCDK C6748

Hi every one.

I’m writing you because I need a recommendation about memory DDR and memory Flash NAND. Let me explain me, I’m working with a DSP C6748 on a customized PCB. Our customized PCB is based on the PCB LCDK C6748, it means that we’re using the same DDR2 memory and the same NAND Flash. When the DSP is working in Deep Sleep those memories consume a lot of power (even if the memories are in low consumption mode). So I’m wondering if you can recommend other memories for our customized PCB?

Our minimum requirements for the DDR or mDDR: at least 256 Mbytes. And for the NAND Flash 128 Mbytes.

Hi Guerrero,

We can provide few options to select the right memory devices which we have tested in-house or with our third-party EVM’s. For low power applications you can prefer mDDR and SPI flash from Micron which our third party Logic PD used it in the C6748 SOM (System-on-modules)

The capacities you've requested are not matching with the above mentioned parts, but these are parts we have tested in house right now, that doesn’t mean you need to select the same part, you can select different part from other vendors to meet Cost, size, power and performance, but please make sure you meet the datasheet timing , cross check the timing values with the existing part number used in the LCDK or Logic PD to make sure those values are matching with the new part you've selected and we strongly encourage you to use our timing calculator tool to check the register timing values matches the existing LCDK Gel file settings ..etc in order to use the same source code.
