WARMRSTn always remains low and no 24Mhz and 32.768khz signals

We are testing am3352BZCZ60 board that I use TI industrial communication kit as reference design (copy its schematic and PCB layout for CPU, DDR3, PWIC), but I met with some trouble. Voltages of all CPU power supply pins are good, B15 (PORZ) is high level and B5 (RTC_PORZ) is high level, but A10 (WARMRSTn)always remains low, I checked A10 pin, its external connection is never shorten to ground. both 24Mhz and 32.768khz crystal not work. Please give me some advice for this issue, it is urgent now for this project.

TI industrial communication board does not use USB, so its USBx_VBUS are not connected to +5VDC (no any connection).

Hi Jim,

You should concentrate your efforts on the main oscillator (24MHz). It should start oscillating before PORZ deasserts.

Thank you very much. I have ordered new 24Mhz crystal and load capacitors and I will get them this morning. After I replace them, I will tell you the result.

Hello Biser,
Thanks very much for your help. We solved problem. One more question is that how to setup our board ID? When we download U-BOOT, it says incorrect magic number (no board ID).

If you have an I2C EEPROM you will need to program it. If you don't have one you can simply skip these checks (there are several).

Hi Biser,
Thanks very much. We jump over board ID and began to download U-BOOT, but our software engineers asked me to supply AM335x pin mux map, I have not any idea for its pin map (I know pin mux utility and I understand that its function is to constrain some pins' function). Hope to know how to generate such a pin mux map and transfer it to software engineer.

Most pins can be used for multiple purposes, but when designing the hardware you presumably had specific functionality in mind for the various processor pins. This is exactly what is described by the pin mux data (along with things like whether internal pull-up or pull-down should be enabled). The pin mux utility is often used to generate it (commonly during the hardware design to ensure the functions you want are indeed available), also because it verifies the pinmux conforms to the am335x "I/O sets", which are apparently important yet not documented (sigh).

Hi Jim,

You should use the pinmux tool to generate these settings. See this wiki for details: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Pin_Mux_Utility_for_ARM_MPU_Processors

Note that the output pinmux files which the tool generates cannot be used directly, settings will need to be copied from them to Linux sources, but your SW people should know how to handle this.
