IPNC ActiveX source VDCONTROL.CAB ?

The IPNC reference designs (both the DM355 and DM365) do not include all source code. Specifically, the VDCONTROL.CAB file is provided only as a binary.

Where is the source code for this ? Appro says they don't have it.

However, without this source, we've been unable to check into what is causing a hang or slowdown of video shown in Internet Explorer on Vista or Windows7.

The same streams viewed on Internet Explorer using XP and also viewed through VLC seems to be ok, so the problem must be in the ActiveX and not the camera.

Any pointers to the source code for VDCONTROL.CAB would be appreciated. Even if it isn't for all the files in this CAB archive. Thanks

  • Hi,

The source code for plugin is not available as part of the IPNC Reference Design kit. It is owned by Appro and they enhance it for different feature/resolution requirements. Again, they might not have the source of everything in that activeX archive and might have picked some binaries from already available solutions. You can contact Appro with local TI contact in copy so that we can try to get you the correct support from Appro.

Please note that the source code for the ActiveX that you are refering to is not part of the package already released, so it might need a separate licensing and pricing to get the source code.
