Do the DSP cores on the EVMK2H have performance counters that count the number of executed instructions, stalls, etc.? If so, where can I find the documentation?

Yes, but I could not find there. Actually, I would like to analyze the performance of some program parts, and would like to know the number of cycles that the DSP core is executing instructions (other than NOP), and the number of cycles that it is stalled (waiting for memory). I could count the number of instructions that is in the assembly code, but this is tedious and error prone, so if the hardware can count it for me, it would be better.

This is exactly the type of profiling I would like to do. However, is it also possible to do this without CCS, and read some event counters directly from the application? The application uses the OpenCL runtime to start the work on the DSPs, and I am not even sure if CCS supports the OpenCL runtime. More importantly, reading performance counters directly from the application would allow me to automate the performance analyses.
