Power supply interruption

I am working on a handheld radio project and using TMS320C5416 DSP.

I need to interrupt the core supply voltage of 1.6 Volts for 50 milliseconds while the IO supply voltage of 3.3 V is on.

Can this cause any physical damage to he device?
