Announced today! Four new Sitara™ ARM9 MPUs

Today, we announced four new AM1x MPU devices (the AM1808, AM1806, AM1707 and AM1705) offering an optimal mix of serial interfaces including TI’s unique Programmable Real-Time Unit (PRU.) The PRU gives you flexible and configurable I/O control allowing you to extend peripheral capabilities and add in custom interfaces for your designs.

What makes these four new AM1x MPUs so different from the others? How about a different peripheral mix including SATA, uPP, USB 2.0 OTG with integrated PHY, 10/100 Ethernet MAC and MMC/SD? No more worrying about your designs because the new AM1x devices are also pin-to-pin compatible with OMAP-L1x processors to protect your codes. Scale up to the OMAP-L1x to integrate real-time data or scale down to the AM1x to create inexpensive, starter products. It’s up to you. With these new devices, you can make your projects migraine-free.

Now it’s your turn - what will you do with your AM1x processor?

If you need more information, check out www.ti.com/am1x-prhome. And of course, let us know what you think of the new processors

    Great !!

Finally an affordable chip that combines a very standard Linux enabled architecture with a corocessor that allows for very fast realtime stuff ("virtual peripherals"). And this positioned by the manufacturer for industrial automation.
