I am working on my own DM355 board, and I have not been able to get
it to show me the BOOTME message when I try to get it to boot from UART.
I wanted to ask you if you could suggest possible causes for this (other than those I
have not considered.)
The possible causes I am currently checking are the following:
1) Power supply currents, timing, ripple.
2) Board power supply and GND connections.
3) XTAL issues
4) UART connections and RS-232 to 3.3VTLL conversion.
5) Appropriate configuration pins (BTSEL[1:0])
My assumption here (I would particularly appreciate if you can confirm
this is correct) is that IF there could be an error on USB, SD, External
RAM, External Flash or Video decoder, it would NOT affect the first step
in getting the DM355 to show BOOTME through UART.
An additional piece of information is that I was actually able to
Program the Flash memory through JTAG (at least that is what CCS
claims), but the system did not boot anyway.
