AM3358 Multiple Displays

AM3358 devices have only one LCD controller, see Section 1.1 Features & Chapter 3 Device Comparison of the device Data Manual.  So I don't think you could connect two displays without using some kind of a mux.

Also I'd like to note that AM335x devices do not have HDMI controller integrated in the SoC. If you plan to use HDMI display you will need additional external chip.

To add to Yordan's comment, the load the LCD pins support can be calculated from the Voh/Vol parameters in the DC Electrical Characteristics table (section 5.7 from the AM335X Datasheet Rev. G). Look in the "All other LVCMOS pins" section of the table (page 90).

Thank you for your quick response.

The Beaglebone Black uses an NXP TDA19988 and can also support an LCD cape without the use of a mux by using the same pins on board as the hdmi transmitter. Here is the schematic: github.com/.../BBB_SCH.pdf

It just requires you to disable the HDMI transmitter. Will this work if we use the TFP410 HDMI transciever with the AM335? We only need to use one display at a time.
