MAD UTILITIES HELP

Hi,

I am working on mad utilities. I have successfully created my image changing the i2cconfig.gel and was able to boot the application. I have used IBL concept i.e I am booting nor flash(NOR BOOT) through I2C EEPROM(IBL).

But when I boot my image using simple SPI NOR booting, and change the switch settings, there is no result. How to boot the image(created through mad utilities) using SPI nor flash without using IBL?

When I created dat file for led.out using SPI NOR BOOTING steps and change the switch settings, I was able to see the led blinking. But when I load the mad image through the same procedure and change the switch settings, I am unable to see the result. Please help me out.

Hi,

Provide the DSP part nember? Have you using TI provide EVM or custom board for your testing?

Also, you shall refer below thread on SPI NOR boot issue.

Hi,
I am working on 6678 EVM board. I have created .dat file from led.out using Booting_from_SPI NOR_C6678.pdf and was successful in booting led.out through nor flash. But when I am trying to load(boot) 6678le.bin(mad image created for application), I am unable to boot i.e no result after changing the switch settings according to SPI boot and doing power on. But I am able to boot the 6678le.bin through IBL concept(NOR FLASH OVER I2C EEPROM).
Is it possible to boot 6678le.bin without IBL concept and just following the same steps according to
Booting_from_SPI NOR_C6678.pdf ?

Hi,

Provide your DSP C6678 silicon revision? PG 1.0 or PG 2.0

Your test application running/accessing on the DDR memory?
I think LED example running on L2 memory that only this example is working properly.

Hi,
DSP C6678 silicon revision is PG 1.0. Our test application is running on L2 SRAM and MSMCRAM.

Hi,

Boot ROM(RBL) code not properly done the PLL initialization sequence on PG 1.0 revision the issue is fixed on PG 2.0 revision chips. Refer "Advisory 8 Multiple PLLs May Not Lock After Power-on Reset Issue" on C6678 Silicon Errata document(SPRZ334G). The workaround should be added before the main PLL initialization sequence inside the application code.
