keystone II automatic switching between 1G/10G support on XGE driver

The 1G and 10G Ethernet are separate IPs and there will not be any switching between the two.

Hello Rex,

the 10GbE Switch Subsystem supports 1G and 10G look on data sheet SPRUHJ5 February 2013 page 24.
To use the 1G or 10G the XGE driver has to configured the serdes speed and so on. This configuration is make at the XGE driver on the device tree.

The XGE drive should have a auto detection on what link speed is supported by the remote station and configured the serdes speed and so on.

Does this be implemented in the future?

The XGE does support auto-detection, but the software for the KS-2 EVM is limited. Because there isn't a PHY, and it uses XGMII through PCS-R instead of SGMII, the auto-negotiation is disabled for 10Gb.

We use a PHY and get information via the MDIO interface.
Does you plan in the future to support auto-detection in the software, if a PHY is using?
It is essential by our project.
