TI-RTOS-SSL Package and Documentation

Hi,

We are currently considering purchasing the TI-RTOS-SSL package and were looking for some more information before we commit to using it.  At this point I have downloaded the GPL version from the WolfSSL website as instructed in another E2E post.

My first question is is this everything that is included in the licenses version that we would purchase through the TI e-store?

Also, is there any resource for documentation for this package?  We currently only have the documentation that was included in the WolfSSL GPL package.

Our goal is to use TI-RTOS-SSL to provide a secure transport layer to implement HTTPS on top of the existing TI-RTOS HTTP server running on a TM4C1294.  Any information on how we can accomplish this goal and how TI-RTOS-SSL can be a part of it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Patrick

  • Patrick,

Here is some more information. First important point is the very latest wolfSSL release (3.4) breaks our build files so you will want the 3.3.0 version. If you got that you will be fine. We will get support for 3.4 at some point but it's not going to happen for a few months.

The main TI-RTOS product includes a TCP echo with TLS example if you look in the Ethernet examples. There is a brief documentation section on this in the Getting Started Guide. Other than this (and the wiki page you already got a link to), it is just the wolfSSL documentation.

When you purchase the product through the TI e-store, you just get the same source code and docs but under a commercial license.

We are working on an HTTPS server implementation that uses the wolfSSL TLS product to provide the security. It's not due out for broad market release for several months. I can inquire if we can get you a early access release sooner.  The engineering manager will make the decision on when we are ready for early access customers. This is a new http server implementation that supports later standards like 1.1. Let me know if you are interested.

  • Nick -

Thanks for the response. I currently have version 3.4 downloaded from the WolfSSL website and have noticed issues with the build. I do not see a way to access v3.3, do you have any method for me to obtain a copy of it?

As for getting early access to the HTTPS implementation we would be very interested in that. Please add let me know any information about if and when early access to the product will be available. If you need any more information from us to move forward, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Patrick
