TMS320DM365 VDDA12LDO_USB Bypass Capacitor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320DM365

Customer's TMS320DM365 design did not include the 0.22uF capacitor on VDDA12LDO_USB (pin M5). The data sheet was pretty specific on this requirement.  Is this absolutely necessary and what side effects might there be if they don't include it?

Thanks,

Mark

  • The feedback from Robert DeMoor is that since this is an LDO capacitor, the LDO may not regulate or may not regulate at the correct voltage without the LDO cap. Note that the device data manual requires the cap on this pin even if USB is not used.
