SATA disk issue

Hello everybody,

I found an issue on Sitara processor AM3894 (Linux versione 2.6.37).

I need to work (read/write/delete) continuosly on SATA disks linked to my processor.

I measure poor performance and high IO usage while I delete large files.

Just to give you an idea. One Gigabytes file deletion takes more than ten seconds (on mechanical disks).

The second and more important issue is the use of about 100% of IO while delete is in progress.

This is a major issue for us because our writes are blocked by the delete process.

Is it a known issue? Do you know about performance issue on SATA disk connected to TI platforms? Do you have any suggestion to overcome the problem?

Thank you in advance and regards,

Simone
