The AM335x boot ROM code does it support booting from a USB pen drive stick on power on mode

Hi all,

I am trying to boot from a USB pen drive stick when board power-up, is it possible. I am using AM335x based custom board. I able boot through SD card and EMMC but I am unable boot USB pen drive, my pen drive stick was connected USB0(OTG client only), if it is possible how can i give power to usb drive..

Please give me information about usb pen drive flashing.....

Hi,

No, this is not supported by the AM335X ROM code. USB boot is supported only via the AM335X USB0 port in Device mode, connected to a Host PC, using RNDIS.

Thank you for your reply, After loading MLO and u-boot through SD card then I can try load rootfs(zImage and dtb) using USB flash drive(OTG client mode) is it possible.... bcz i want load my image through usb flash drive....

but i am unable detect my USB stick in USB0 OTG mode, if anything changes in uboot code or hardware vbus/id pins...

For the USB stick to be detected the AM335X USB port must be in Host mode.
